Mamas & Papas Prams
The excitement of bringing your newborn home calls for a pram that offers maximum safety and comfort. A Mamas & Papas pram delivers on this promise, providing a beautifully designed, secure, lie-flat environment for your baby’s earliest journeys. Mamas & Papas is a trusted British brand, and parents are motivated by the quality craftsmanship and their prams’ exceptional handling.
At Pram Centre, we stock all the latest Mamas & Papas prams, including the all-terrain Ocarro and the sleek Strada. Every pram is built for seamless convenience, so you can invest in confidence and style for your newborn’s first six months.
Mamas & Papas prams are designed to solve the logistical challenges of travelling with a newborn. The carrycots are deeply cushioned, often certified for permanent overnight sleeping, and feature excellent weather protection, giving you a safe haven for your baby wherever you go. The chassis frames are built to be robust yet agile, featuring all-wheel suspension and user-friendly folding mechanisms.
By choosing a Mamas & Papas pram, you are investing in a system that easily converts into a travel system (with compatible car seats) and eventually into a long-term pushchair, ensuring your purchase provides lasting value and reliability well beyond the newborn stage.
How to fold a Mamas & Papas pram?
Most Mamas & Papas prams feature an incredibly convenient, compact folding system, often operable with just one hand.
Mamas & Papas pushchairs are known for their easy folding, which is a major convenience for parents:
-
Pram vs. Pushchair Fold: When in pram mode (with the carrycot attached), you must first remove the carrycot unit from the chassis before folding the frame.
-
One-Hand Fold (Pushchair Mode): Many Mamas & Papas chassis models, particularly the Ocarro and Strada, are designed to fold with the pushchair seat unit still attached (facing forward). This fold is typically activated by locating the safety buttons/levers on the handlebar or frame, and often requires just one hand to press and push the handle down.
-
Compact and Self-Standing: The chassis locks automatically when folded and is designed to stand upright independently, keeping the handlebar clean and making it simple to lift into the car boot.
This quick, compact fold is a key feature of every pram Mamas & Papas offers, designed to simplify daily life.
What is the difference between a Mamas & Papas pram and a pushchair?
The difference between a Mamas & Papas pram and a pushchair lies in the seating unit and the child’s age/developmental stage.
While the two terms are often used interchangeably, they refer to specific travel modes:
-
Pram (Carrycot): This uses the lie-flat carrycot unit on the chassis. It is strictly for newborns (from birth up to approximately 6 months). The key feature is the completely flat base, which is necessary for safe, healthy spinal development and optimal breathing for infants. The Mamas & Papas pram is the only safe option for long-term travel with a newborn.
-
Pushchair (Seat Unit): This uses the main seat unit on the chassis. It is suitable for babies who can sit up unaided (from around 6 months) up to toddler age (around 4 years). The pushchair seat is adjustable and allows the child to sit upright to interact with the world.
A Mamas & Papas system typically comes with both a carrycot and a pushchair seat, making it a complete 2-in-1 system.
