Moving from a twin carrycot setup to twin pushchair seats is an exciting milestone. When your twins reach the stage of being able to sit up independently (typically around six months), you’ll want a high-quality seat unit that maintains the smooth, superior handling you’ve come to expect from Bugaboo.
The Bugaboo Donkey twin pushchair is celebrated because it maintains a relatively slim side-by-side profile (only 74 cm wide) while offering two spacious, independently reversible and reclinable seats. This allows your twins to face each other, face you, or face the world—perfect for bonding or separate naps! Its robust chassis and large, puncture-proof wheels ensure that even when fully loaded, steering with one hand remains effortless.
What is the weight limit for a Bugaboo twin pushchair?
Each seat on the Bugaboo Donkey twin pushchair is designed to accommodate a child up to 22 kg (approximately 4 years old).
Investing in a premium twin pushchair means you need assurance that it will last throughout your twins' early childhood. The Bugaboo Donkey is highly durable and features a high weight capacity:
Individual Seat Limit: The weight limit for each of the two seats is 22 kg (48.5 lbs). This means the pushchair can easily handle two children until they are typically 4 years old, or even slightly older, depending on their growth.
Total Capacity: Beyond the children themselves, the large underseat basket and the side luggage basket (when configured as a single/duo) offer ample storage capacity, usually up to 10 kg (22 lbs) each, allowing you to carry groceries, changing bags, and essentials without compromising stability or steering.
This generous capacity ensures that your Bugaboo twin pushchair is a long-term investment that grows with your children.
Why is the Bugaboo Donkey the best twin pushchair choice?
The Bugaboo Donkey twin pushchair is the preferred choice for twins due to its narrow width, modular design, and superior handling.
The Donkey 5 stands out in the crowded double pushchair market by addressing the primary concerns of parents with multiples:
Narrow Footprint: At just 74 cm wide in the twin configuration, the Donkey is designed to fit through most standard UK doorways, eliminating the stress of navigating tight spaces.
Supreme Manoeuvrability: Its clever engineering ensures that the side-by-side design remains incredibly easy to push and steer with one hand, even when loaded with two growing children. The excellent all-wheel suspension provides a smooth ride over all terrains.
Modular Versatility: The Donkey 5 is unique in its ability to convert in just three simple clicks from a twin pushchair (two seats/carrycots) to a Duo (one seat and one carrycot/car seat) or a single Mono configuration with extra storage. This adaptability makes it the ultimate future-proof solution.
Optimal Comfort: Features like the breezy seat and carrycot fabrics, extra-soft padded quick-click harness, and reversible, independently adjustable seating positions ensure ultimate comfort and bonding for both of your little ones.
